Important facts about the THE ROGUE INVITATIONAL

The Rogue Invitational is a coveted competition due to its extensive prize purse and additional benefits for participating athletes. In fact, it’s the first major event to pay participating athletes for their travel and stay expenses.

This last aspect is quite groundbreaking, as it’s now widely known that for athletes, especially those coming from outside the USA, participating in these big events can become quite costly as they have to travel to the competition destination days if not weeks in advance.

Rogue has in fact announced they will be allotting $1000 for athletes traveling in North America and up to $2000 for athletes coming from outside the continent. Additionally, they will be covering the cost of 5 days per athlete at a hotel near the competition location.

This means that overall, athletes who chose to take part in the Invitational will be at net zero regardless of how many event wins they take home or how much support they can rack up from their sponsors.

Lastly, the prize purse itself for the event is one of the biggest in the sport. Rogue has truly pulled out all the spots to make this a memorable competition both for the community and sport fan-base as well as for the athletes.

In particular, Rogue has announced that the initial prize purse was set at $1.25 million. But it doesn’t stop here: the prize purse increases with the number of tickets being sold, and has now reached $1.3 million.

An additional fun fact is that this will be the first prize purse in CrossFit history to include bitcoin as a payout form.
